Meet the New UNT Alumni Association Board of Directors and Officers

The University of North Texas Alumni Association board of directors recently welcomed several new members. The Alumni Association’s board of directors provides counsel to the university and serves as the official liaison between UNT and its graduates. These alumni work to establish and maintain lifelong relationships as university ambassadors in their communities.

Additionally, the Alumni Association welcomed its newly selected executive committee members, with Ernest Martinez (’11) serving as chair, Sterling Guest (’98) as vice chair, Deborah Bell (’75, ’77 M.B.A.) as secretary, Phillip Hernandez (’13) as treasurer and Sarah Wagner (’89) as past chair.

Gilbert Gerst (’85)

Gerst earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1985. While he was a student Gerst was involved as a member of the Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, and was a member of the accounting club.  As an alumnus, Gerst serves on the UNT Foundation board of directors, and is an active member and past president of the UNT Black Alumni Network. He also serves on the UNT Black Alumni and Student Taskforce.

Since 2011, Gerst has served as the senior vice president and manager of community development banking at BOK Financial. He previously served as the vice president for community development banking at JPMorgan Chase for more than 25 years. 

Sarina Lora Davidson (’19)

Davidson graduated from UNT with a B.A. in integrative studies, focusing in criminal justice, business management and communications. As a student, Davidson served as the president of Talons, UNT’s spirit, service and traditions organization. As an alumna, Davidson serves as the president of the UNT Alumni Tarrant County Network, which has seen a significant increase in engagement and participation under her leadership. She serves on the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences board of directors and is a founding member of the of the UNT Young Alumni Network. She was the 2023 recipient of the Rising Star Award at the UNT Alumni Awards.

Davidson is the senior director of corporate fundraising at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County.

Eva Wilkins (’98)

Wilkins earned a bachelor’s degree in applied science with concentrations in journalism and marketing in 1998. While she was a student, Wilkins worked as a reporter for the North Texas Daily, UNT’s student produced newspaper, and contributed articles to multiple DFW publications. She was also a member of the Black Student Network, now called the UNT Black Student Union. More recently, Wilkins served as a guest lecturer at the UNT at Frisco campus, sharing wisdom for women and minority students who aspire to make a difference in their communities.

Wilkins is an account manager at Wondr Health, and previously worked as a director of sales and business development for Lush Catering Company for more than 11 years.
